Fit
Best for
- Service businesses, freelancers and personal brands that need a brochure site and lead forms quickly, without code.
- Owners who would rather edit a site by typing or speaking instructions than by using a drag-and-drop editor.
- Buyers who want the option to download the generated code (a Vite + React + TypeScript app) and host it elsewhere.
Limits
Who should skip it or consider alternatives
- Merchants who need a documented online store: Wegic advertises a cart and payment system, but its help center doesn't say which payment providers, fees, tax or shipping options it supports.
- Anyone who wants a custom domain on the cheaper plan. Custom domains are Premium-only.
- Buyers who need refunds or predictable costs. Wegic's terms rule out refunds, and its docs give no fixed credit cost per edit.
If Wegic matches the fit above, compare its current plans before you commit.
Product role
What it does
Wegic is an AI website builder where you describe the site you want in a chat, and the AI generates and edits it. Its help center says it is built for non-technical users and bundles hosting, publishing, forms, SEO tools and analytics. Every AI change uses credits from a monthly allowance, and the documentation describes no store checkout or payment processing.
Chat, sketch and voice building
You describe the site in text, upload images or a hand-drawn sketch, or speak instructions. The AI generates pages and makes later edits. Per Wegic's change log, voice input was added in January 2026 and the AI runs on Google's Gemini 3 model.
Hosting and publishing
Sites publish to a free your-name.wegic.net address. Premium users can connect a domain they already own with A and CNAME records. The help center has guides for GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, Hostinger, Squarespace, IONOS, Alibaba Cloud and Wix domains.
Wegic Cloud forms and data
Wegic Cloud adds a database for contact forms, questionnaires, bookings and product customization requests, plus a password-protected /admin dashboard. It uses separate Cloud credits: $20/month on Starter and $35/month on Premium. Forms pause when those credits run out.
Code download
Starter and Premium subscribers can ask the AI to package the full site code for self-hosting. Each download uses credits based on site size. Free, trial and expired accounts can't download code.
SEO and site audit
Wegic creates basic SEO settings automatically. A Site Audit & Optimize tool, added in March 2026, scans for SEO, performance, mobile, accessibility and content issues. Sites are client-side rendered single-page apps, and Wegic says this can delay first indexing by a few days.
Jobs to be done
Ecommerce use cases
- A one-page or multi-page site for a local service business, with a contact or booking form.
- A portfolio or personal-brand site built from a written description or sketch.
- A small product showcase or simple store, after confirming in writing which payment providers Wegic's cart supports.
Implementation
Setup complexity
Low for a basic site. You create an account, chat with the AI or remix a template, and publish. The $2.99 trial generates one site but can't publish it, so going live needs Starter or Premium. Custom domains need Premium plus DNS changes at your registrar, which Wegic says can take up to 48 hours to propagate.
Connections
Integrations and ecosystem
Wegic's help center lists no app marketplace or named payment provider, and no Shopify connection; its online-store page advertises a built-in cart and payment system without naming providers. The documented connections are custom domains at outside registrars, Google Fonts, and Google Search Console verification. Data collection runs through Wegic's own Cloud feature.
Commercial terms
Pricing: verify the current offer
Per Wegic's pricing page (annual) and help center (monthly), Starter costs $39.90/month billed monthly, or $286.80/year ($23.90/month). Premium costs $69.90/month, or $502.80/year ($41.90/month). Starter includes 600 credits a month, publishing to wegic.net, up to 10,000 visitors a month, code download and badge removal. Premium adds 2,000 credits a month, a custom domain, unlimited visitors and the option to buy extra credits. Extra credits are charged automatically to the card on file. New users get a small amount of free credits for chatting before generation. A $2.99 trial pack covers one full site generation but no publishing. Upgrades are prorated and can't be reversed or downgraded. Charges are in USD. The wegic.ai pricing page itself didn't load during this check, and Wegic's terms say that page governs if the two differ (checked Oct 10, 2026).
| Plan | 12 months billed monthly | 12 months billed annually | Annual saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter (600 credits/mo) | $39.90 × 12 = $478.80 | $286.80 | $192.00 (about 40%) |
| Premium (2,000 credits/mo) | $69.90 × 12 = $838.80 | $502.80 | $336.00 (about 40%) |

Who Wegic fits (and who it doesn't)
Wegic suits someone who needs a presentable website fast and is happy to edit it by giving the AI instructions. Its help center frames it around leads, bookings and service promotion. Wegic Cloud collects form data and shows it in an admin dashboard.
It is an unproven fit for selling online. Wegic's Online Store Builder page says you can add products and deploy a shopping cart and payment system, and the Cloud dashboard can list orders. But no help article covers checkout, tax, shipping, transaction fees or which payment providers (such as Stripe or PayPal) are supported.
- Fits: brochure sites, portfolios, landing pages, enquiry and booking forms.
- Borderline: a small catalog using Wegic's built-in cart, once Wegic confirms its payment providers and fees in writing.
- Doesn't fit: stores that need card checkout, inventory, shipping rules or Shopify. Compare a commerce platform such as Shopify.
Cost and lock-in
Trade-offs to check before you buy
Credits drive the real cost. Wegic says credits depend on the scope and type of each change, and image, video and layout work costs more. It doesn't publish a fixed credit price per edit, so the figures below show only the cost per credit.
Leaving takes planning. If you cancel, published sites are unpublished when the term ends. Wegic says to export your code before then, and the export itself uses credits. Its terms say fees are non-refundable and credits can't be refunded or converted to cash. The Plan and Credits page says partial refunds may be available in certain cases.
| Plan and billing | Price per month | Credits per month | Cost per credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter, monthly | $39.90 | 600 | $39.90 ÷ 600 ≈ $0.067 |
| Starter, annual | $23.90 | 600 | $23.90 ÷ 600 ≈ $0.040 |
| Premium, monthly | $69.90 | 2,000 | $69.90 ÷ 2,000 ≈ $0.035 |
| Premium, annual | $41.90 | 2,000 | $41.90 ÷ 2,000 ≈ $0.021 |
Plan prices and credit allowances from Wegic's help center, checked Oct 10, 2026. Wegic doesn't publish how many credits a typical edit uses, so this table can't predict monthly spend.
Pros and tradeoffs
Research observations
Strength: code export reduces lock-in
Paid users can download the full site code. The help center says it is a Vite + React + TypeScript single-page app that can be hosted anywhere.
Limitation: thinly documented ecommerce
Wegic advertises a shopping cart and payment system, but its help center names no payment provider, checkout fee, tax or shipping settings. Get those details in writing before you rely on it for sales.
Limitation: custom domain and traffic tied to Premium
Starter sites live on a wegic.net subdomain and are capped at 10,000 visitors a month. A custom domain and unlimited visitors start at $41.90/month on annual billing.
Limitation: strict refund terms
The terms (updated Sep 8, 2026) say fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable, with no prorated refunds, and upgrades can't be undone. The help center's mention of possible partial refunds makes the policy unclear.

Buyer checklist
What to check in your own trial
- Ask Wegic support in writing whether your site can take card payments, which payment providers it supports, and whether any transaction fee applies.
- Track how many credits your first ten typical edits use in the View Usage panel, then estimate whether 600 or 2,000 credits a month is enough.
- Download your code once on a paid plan and confirm it builds and runs on another host before you rely on it as an exit plan.
- Check whether your expected traffic stays under Starter's 10,000 visitors a month, and whether you need a custom domain, which requires Premium.
- Read the current wegic.ai pricing page and terms before paying, because the terms say fees are non-refundable and the pricing page governs.
- Confirm how much of your form data fits within the monthly Cloud credits, since forms stop accepting submissions when they run out.
