Architecture and target user
Judge.me
A product and store reviews app for Shopify. It has two plans, Free and Awesome, and the price does not change with order volume.
Worth investigating for Shopify stores that want unlimited review requests and photo and video reviews at a fixed cost at any order volume.
Loox
A visual reviews app for Shopify focused on photo and video reviews and referrals. Its Convert plan is priced by monthly order volume in blocks of 300 orders.
Worth investigating for Shopify brands that lean on photo and video reviews and referrals, and that can budget for a cost that rises with orders.
Ease and implementation considerations
Judge.me
Install from the Shopify App Store. Judge.me has sunset its apps on all non-Shopify platforms, so the store itself must run on Shopify. Awesome lets you show widgets on non-Shopify pages while Shopify stays the backend.
Loox
Install from the Shopify App Store. Loox's pricing page is written for Shopify stores, and charges run through Shopify's 30-day app billing.
These are research observations, not timing or usability test results. Implementation depends on catalog, data migration, design, channels, integrations, internal skills, and partner scope.
Ecosystem and integrations
Judge.me
Imports and syncs reviews from the Shop app, AliExpress, Amazon, Etsy and Google Business Profile. Awesome adds integrations such as Klaviyo, Omnisend, Mailchimp, Gorgias, Smile and LoyaltyLion, plus Google Shopping, Meta and TikTok Shop sync.
Loox
Convert adds Google, Meta and TikTok syndication, reviews on product bundles, API access and webhooks. Loox's pricing page lists integrations including Klaviyo, Omnisend, PushOwl, AfterShip, Weglot and Shopify Flow.
Pricing approach
Judge.me: Free is $0/month with unlimited reviews, unlimited review requests and unlimited photo and video reviews. Awesome is $15/month and adds automatic reminders, coupons, referrals, Q&A, AI features, Google Shopping and all integrations. Judge.me says $15/month is the most a store can pay it. There is no yearly plan. Awesome has a 15-day free trial. Checked Oct 10, 2026.
Current Judge.me pricingLoox: Beginner is free and covers up to 500 orders, with 2,000 review request emails a month. Convert is $49.99/month for the first 300 monthly orders, then $50 per additional 300 orders, with charges capped at $999.99/month (6,000 orders). Unlimited is listed from $299.99/month with no usage quotas. Convert and Unlimited have a 14-day free trial. No annual commitment. Checked Oct 10, 2026.

Worked example
Monthly cost at 500 and 3,000 orders a month
Two Shopify stores that want video reviews, automatic reminders and referrals. That puts Judge.me on Awesome and Loox on Convert or Unlimited. Judge.me's Free plan already includes video reviews and unlimited review requests, so a store that does not need reminders or referrals could pay $0.
| Per month | Judge.me Awesome | Loox Convert | Loox Unlimited |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 orders | $15 | $99.99 | $299.99 |
| 3,000 orders | $15 | $499.99 | $299.99 |
| 500 orders, 12 months | $180 | $1,199.88 | $3,599.88 |
| 3,000 orders, 12 months | $180 | $5,999.88 | $3,599.88 |
Published list prices, checked Oct 10, 2026. Judge.me Awesome: $15 at any volume. Loox Convert at 500 orders: $49.99 covers 300, the other 200 start one more 300-order block, so $49.99 + $50 = $99.99. At 3,000 orders: 2,700 extra orders = 9 blocks, so $49.99 + (9 × $50) = $499.99. Loox Unlimited is listed as starting at $299.99, so confirm the exact price for your store. Excludes taxes and any separate email or SMS costs.
What decides it. On list price alone, Judge.me costs the same at both volumes. Loox's cost depends on whether you need video reviews and referrals. Loox Beginner is free up to 500 orders but has no video reviews and a 2,000-email cap. On Convert, the cost rises $50 with every 300 orders, and Unlimited becomes the cheaper Loox plan above 1,800 orders a month ($349.99 vs $299.99 at 1,801 to 2,100 orders). Compare the review display, the request emails and the referral setup in each trial before price settles it.
Terms
Limits and terms that cost buyers money
Loox order blocks are added automatically. On Convert, each extra 300 orders is added to your monthly quota and billed at $50. A sales spike raises that month's bill. Charges stop at $999.99 a month, or 6,000 orders.
Loox Beginner queues emails past its cap. Above 2,000 review request emails a month, Loox pauses and queues them. Queued emails go out after the billing cycle resets, but only within 30 days of the original send time; older ones are marked missed. Beginner covers up to 500 orders, after which Loox prompts an upgrade to Convert.
Judge.me's trial turns into a charge. The 15-day Awesome trial starts billing $15 a month unless you downgrade first. Judge.me says it generally does not refund app charges. A one-month refund may apply if you downgrade or uninstall within 5 days, once per store, and only as Shopify app credit.
Loox no longer sells upsells. Loox's help center says its post-purchase upsell feature was discontinued and points merchants to a partner app with its own pricing. Budget for that separately if you used it.
Platform lock-in. Judge.me has sunset its WooCommerce, Square, Squarespace, Duda, BigCommerce and PrestaShop apps. Both tools now assume a Shopify store, so a platform move means a new reviews app.

Buyer checklist
What to check in a side-by-side trial
- Install both on a development store and send review requests from the same set of past orders.
- Submit a photo review and a video review in each and check how they display on a product page and on mobile.
- Set up a referral offer in each and confirm when the coupon is issued and how it shows in Shopify.
- Check Loox's order count against your Shopify orders for a full billing cycle.
- Export reviews from each and confirm the file includes photos, videos and replies.
- Note each trial's end date so you can downgrade before billing starts.
